De Nittis

“Never before an exposition like this has been dedicated to De Nittis.” Federico Bano can say it without fearing any contradiction, relying on the list of masterpieces that international lenders have already assured. The quantity, but also the quality of the works already guaranteed for the exhibition make it the most important one ever seen about De Nittis.

Palazzo della Ragione (The Hall of Justice)

This Hall of Justice was built in 1218-19 with the specific aim of reorganizing trading markets and of creating the headquarters for justice administration.
Four external staircases take to the first floor. In the beginning the hall on the first floor was divided into three large rooms where justice was administered, plus the Seal and the Tax offices of the Commune located along the shortest sides, and the chapel of St. Prosdocimus.
The frescoes on the walls form one of the few, extremely rare astrological cycles that have survived to present day from the Middle Ages.

The Scrovegni Chapel

The Scrovegni Chapel, a masterpiece by Giotto and a great accomplishment of Italian and European painting in the Fourteenth century, is considered the most complete cycle of frescoes painted by the great master from Tuscany in his maturity.
Colour and light, poetry and pathos.
Man and God.
The sense of nature and of history, the sense of mankind and of faith: they all merge to tell some stories about the Virgin Mary and Christ in a unique and unrepeatable way.
