Associazione Ristorantori Padovani is a group of restaurants in Padua and its county that started a common path marked by study, research, and promotion of local traditions. Established over 20 years ago, it now counts 16 members who are passionate for cooking and feel a strong tie with the culture of the Padua territory. In this careless age that tends to uniform habits and tastes, Ristorantori Padovani do not deviate from the road of "diversity" as represented by cooking traditions and tastes that are linked to the territory and to the seasonality of products; they promote and safeguard the image of Padua and its county through its typical dishes, bearing witness of their affection for this homeland and its traditions through love for good food. The Association has long been cooperating with local institutions and agencies to organize wine-and-food events (Radicchio & Radicchi, A tavola con l'Asparago di Padova, Autunno a tavola, Gran Bollito alla Padovana) in order to promote Padua cuisine using typical local products only, some of which were awarded European quality marks (IGP / PGI; DOP / PDO; DOC / CDO) including: Gallina Padovana (Padua hen), Radicchio Variegato di Castelfranco (variegated chicory of Castelfranco), Asparago di Padova (asparagus of Padua) and the wines produced by the three wine-making consortia that safeguard local DOC wines. In addition in June 2003, Associazione Ristorantori Padovani had the honour of cooking for the "starred" restaurants of Italy listed in the Michelin Guide (the mythical "red one") on occasion of the "Gala des Etoiles". Participation to this event, which was organized with the support of Consorzio di Promozione Turistica Giotto and of local agencies, corroborated further the direction taken by the Association and its will to promote the Padua cooking tradition in the future as well.
